CORTLANDT ROWING 2020-2021 WINTER YOUTH PROGRAM 7th–12th Grade
A coached rowing program for youth to learn all aspects of the sport and prepare for competitive races. There’s a place on the team for everyone. Rowing is a sport for everyone! Develops teamwork, fitness, coordination and leadership skills.
Due to overwhelming requests from the team, our 2020 winter program will begin outside with 5 weeks of coached strength and conditioning land practice called “Hustle for the Muscle”. After the new year, the team will be split into 2 groups and each group will have 4 weeks of coached Zoom erg practices. There will be an option to be in both groups, space permitting, for an additional fee.
CCRA is committed to the health and safety of our rowers and staff. We will be following the recommendations of local authorities and US Rowing regarding COVID-19 concerns and conform to social distancing guidelines during these land practices. All rowers and families must read and agree to adhere to CCRA’s COVID-19 Policies and Procedures.
Winter will be a 9-week session:
Fee $200 per youth rower
IMPORTANT NOTE: Winter registration deadline is November 15!
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Land practices will take place rain or shine outside. Locaiton TBD and announced prior to start. In the case of extreme weather, practices will take place remotely via Zoom. Be on the lookout for communications via the SportsYou app or text for last minute updates.
RACING
National and international virtual erg competitions will be available for rowers to race in throughout the winter. Program fee does NOT cover the entry fees if rowers choose to race.
